All the hours of planning, practice and preparation are now coming together and being released through what the people on the stage are doing. Every sound and note that is being released from each member of the team is being mixed and fed through the PA to the congregation and those watching online. The Sound Desk is the most powerful and influential instrument in the whole place!
We are helping to create an atmosphere and empowering our teams. We are helping to create and foster an environment that is easy to lead in, and helps welcome the presence of God. Never discount the atmosphere you help to create through your skill on the Sound Desk. We help people “taste and SEE that the Lord is good” (Psa 34:8).
Who is it for?
There are 3 areas of strength that flow together to produce a skilled sound mixer and they vary from person to person. They are...
Technical – the awareness of how the desk operates and how to trouble shoot problems that may arise.
Musical – the awareness of what the instruments and vocalists are doing at any given point in time, and how each contributes to the overall sound and atmosphere. This helps you to know what things need to be adjusted as the service progresses.
Spiritual – the awareness of the atmosphere and what Holy Spirit is wanting to do in that atmosphere.
In effect we are, as a team, working to create a sound track that supports what Holy Spirit is doing at any given point in time.
Very few people are strong in all 3 areas, but we can grow and develop them if we are in the right environment of encouragement, training and support. If you are interested in learning more about sound mixing we can definitely provide some training to help you grow.
