Our Beliefs

Beliefs are the very things that shape our lives.

At Living Waters Christian Centre our Beliefs are based on the Word of God.

Here are our key Beliefs...

  • We believe there is one true living God, who eternally exists in three persons in unity - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures.
  • We believe in the original perfection of creation; the inherent corruptness of humanity through the Fall; the necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone, and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.
  • We believe in the virgin birth, the sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, His second coming and His eternal Kingdom reign.
  • We believe in the justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, their security as they remain in Him, and their future resurrection in an incorruptible body. We believe in the sacraments of baptism by immersion, and of the Lord’s Supper (Communion).
  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the Church for its mission in the world. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.
  • We believe in Christ’s leadership of the Church through the ascension ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the unity, maturity, equipping and growth of the Church.
  • We believe in the privilege and responsibility of wise stewardship of all that God has given, including the practice of tithing to the local church.
  • We believe that marriage is ordained by God in Scripture for the exclusive union between one man and one woman, for their mutual help and comfort.

Our Core Values

The Word of God...

We have a high value of the “Word of God” as it is the sole reliable collection of Holy Spirit inspired books and letters bound together in what we call the “Holy Bible”. Through these scriptures we have the revelation of God himself, His creation, His purposes, His plans, and His dealings with humankind. We see the nature of good and evil, and the heart of God to rescue us from our enemy and reconcile us to Himself. Through faith and practice of the Word of God we experience transformation and direction, wisdom and correction, empowerment and equipping to fulfil God's will.

The Presence of God...

We value and host His empowering presence. The Father's desire is to presence Himself in, with, and amongst His people forever. Authentic faith-filled praise and sincere adoring worship from the hearts of God's people attracts the tangible presence of Holy Spirit where people, regardless of their state or maturity, have the opportunity to experience Him. In this atmosphere anything is possible for the blessing and transformation of people's lives. The lost can find Father, the sick can be healed, the demonised delivered, the mourning comforted, and the powerless empowered.

Prophecy...

We value the prophetic, with Holy Spirit speaking to us in various ways. “Believe His prophets and you will prosper”, “despise not prophecy”, “earnestly desire to prophesy” - these are just a few of the encouragements from Scripture regarding prophecy. We highly value God speaking to us, revealing His heart, His direction, and His encouragement. We wage spiritual warfare with the prophetic words we receive, we are empowered in prayer through the prophetic ministry. God speaks to His children and we love to hear Him.

Family...

We value the “family of God”. We recognise that everyone who has received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are members of God's family. We are dearly loved, and commanded to love each other as Christ loved us. We love to welcome people who are seeking God into the family, not that we all know each other, but we recognise that we are all known by our Father. Knowing this establishes our value for each other, and helps us to appreciate that we are all dearly loved by our Father. As members of His family we work to protect the love and unity amongst us, for His Name's sake.

The Great Commission...

We value the commission that we have received from Jesus, which is to preach the Gospel and make disciples everywhere we can have influence, both locally and abroad. We embrace the reality that we are salt and light. We are, and we carry the only message that has the power to save a person from slavery to sin and separation from God, the message that transforms their lives through being reconciled to the Father. We value the message and are not ashamed of the Gospel, for we experience the transforming power it contains and releases.
